Is kombucha alcoholic?
Kombucha undergoes fermentation, which produces a small amount of alcohol as a byproduct. Most commercially available kombuchas contain less than 0.5% alcohol by volume, making them non-alcoholic according to FDA regulations. However, some homebrewed or artisanal kombuchas may have slightly higher alcohol content. Some of the alcoholic kombucha brands I know are Kombrewcha, Wild Tonic, and JuneShine Hard Kombucha.
